Rucho v. Common Cause (2019) Definition

In this U.S. Supreme Court decision, the Court ruled that whether state voting districts drawn based on political considerations (known as "political gerrymanders") were properly created is a nonjusticiable "political question" left to Congress and the state legislatures. Simply stated, under Rucho federal courts don't have authority to decide the constitutionality of political gerrymander cases.
